Description
The Overseas Crate Export Line or “ Overzeese krattenexportlijn “ was founded in 1867. The line established routes from the Netherlands to various Dutch colonies around the globe, most notably to the Guianas and the West Indies, connecting the old world to the new. The Overzeese krattenexportlijn oversees the operation of S/S “ WEST INDIË “ (1872) or “ West India, “ which offers a monthly service from the line's home port in Rotterdam to Paramaribo in Suriname. S/S " CELEBES " (1897) and running mate " JAVA " of the same year which both offer a weekly transatlantic service from the line's home port to Hoboken, New Jersey. S/S “ GOUDEN LEEUW “ (1938) or “ Golden Lion, “ which offers a weekly transatlantic service from the line’s home port to New York City in the United States.
