Los Mossos d'Esquadra es la policía autonómica de Cataluña, siendo parte de las fuerzas y cuerpos de seguridad, refundada, como cuerpo policial con competencias de policía integral, en 1983. Este grupo se basa en la unidad ARRO, Área Regional de Recursos Operativos, que se encargan de proporcionar efectivos policiales en casos puntuales en que una comisaría necesite más de los que dispone.
