2nd Rifle Battalion - Guard Detachment [INFORMATION] The 2nd Battalion also known as 2RIFLES is a light infantry battalion of the rifles. Our main role is to patrol the FOB and Garrison providing light infantry support and utilising our specific skills in long range combat and reconnaissance. During the army reforms this battalion also houses the RGG detachment that will split and become the founding members of the Royal Grenadier Guards. [COMPANIES] The 2nd Battalion is home to 3 rifle companies. These are Delta Company, Echo Company and Foxtrot Company: - DCoy is the palace guard unit patrolling the HQ building and parade grounds. - FCoy serves as the gate guard unit patrolling Aldershot gates with 5RIFLES. - GCoy is the special guarding unit of 2RIFLES, their main role is to guard senior officers and members of the royal family.
