Description

𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐑𝐔𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐀𝐍 𝐀𝐑𝐌𝐘 𝒁𝒂 𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒖, 𝑻𝒔𝒂𝒓'𝒚𝒂 𝒊 𝑶𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒗𝒐 𝟏𝟕𝟎𝟎-𝟏𝟕𝟐𝟏 The Russian Army has been overlooked for centuries, and has been pushed around by it's neighbours with apparent ease. Upon Tsar Pyotr Alekseyevich's ascension to the throne, he immediately began to reform Russia. With his travels across Western Europe, he learned of Dutch shipbuilding and Prussian army reforms. He quickly followed suit, and Russia's army was transformed within a few decades from a peasant mob to an organised and disciplined fighting force, defeating the Swedish Army at the battle of Poltava and subsequently winning the Great Northern War despite the capitulation of it's Danish and Polish allies.
