Description

The East Prussian Riflemen Battalion was formed by the cabinet orders of the middle of November 1807 using the Vxlentini I, Rieben, Seydlitz, and Wxrner riflemen Companies. In 1812 the East Prussian Riflemen Battalion operated as a complete battalion as part of the Prussian division serving in the French army. In 1813 the battalion was broken into 2 divisions. The 1st and 3rd companies were assigned to the 1st Brigade in the Army of Schlesien. The 2nd and 4th companies were in the 4th Brigade of the Army of the North. Portions of the battalion fought at Luetzen, Dennewitz, Wartenburg, Leipzig, Laon, and Paris.
