🇪🇬 🕀 COMOR 🕀 🇪🇬 (est. 2024) Jesus Christ son of God | Ⲓⲏ︦ⲥ︦ Ⲡⲭ︦ⲥ︦ Ⲡ̀ϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲙ̀ⲫ̀ϯ | يسوع المسيح ابن الله | (This is not a roleplay group, this group is an educational group to teach people about the Coptic Church) This is a Community for Coptic Christians, but anyone is welcome! The Coptic Orthodox Church is an Oriental Orthodox Christian church based in Egypt. The church follows the Coptic Rite for its liturgy, prayer, and devotional patrimony. Ancient culture and tradition have been preserved since the beginning. St. Mark the Evangelist started it in 43 AD in Alexandria, Egypt. The Iconography in this church is influenced by ancient Egyptian art. Coptic is a language spoken in the church (other than Arabic) Copts are the direct descendants of the ancient Egyptians, carrying with us much of their culture. Our Church uses the ancient Egyptian Calender that our ancestors used (we still have the same celebration days as other Orthodox churches, for example, Easter and Christmas.
