Description

The Houses of Parliament are where MPs and Lords discuss debate the United Kingdom's new legislation, as well as holding the Prime Minister and their Government to account. You can become a Member of Parliament by joining one of the many political parties that are registered, where the party's leader can select you to run as a Member of Parliament to join the House of Commons. If you win enough seats in the General Election - you are elected as an MP. People who have contributed exceptionally to the United Kingdom may be awarded a Peerage by the King or Queen, this means you can become a Lord and sit in the House of Lords. The country's Upper House consists of the most respected and senior citizens from all aspects of our community not just politically.
