The 3rd Mechanized Infantry Regiment is a mechanized infantry regiment with one mechanized rifle battalion, one designated marksman battalion, one armored battalion, and one administrative battalion for a total of four battalions. The purpose of mechanized infantry battalions is to close with and destroy the enemy in close quarters combat and superior firepower using armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, and main battle tanks.
