Description
Welcome to the NASCAR racing Rules. Car use Drivers must use the same car throughout the race weekend, including practice and qualifying. Engine and transmission changes are generally prohibited, except for safety reasons at road courses and Pocono Raceway. Passing and lane changes Drivers can't pass until the leader crosses the start-finish line, and they can't change lanes until after the car crosses the finish line. Restarts A restart is official when the legal lead car crosses the start-finish line. If NASCAR calls off a restart before the leader crosses the line, it's considered aborted. Playoffs Points reset between each round, except for playoff points. Drivers' regular-season and early-playoff performance can help them avoid early elimination. Qualifying The top five drivers from each of the two groups in time-trial qualification advance to the pole round. The remaining cars determine starting positions 11-40.
