By 2003 Kosovo became the 4th most powerful country in Europe, just behind countries like the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Russia. In the late 2000s, Kosovo needed to boost there economy, Kosovo's president had the idea of trading with countries of Asia. He established an alliance with Pakistan, South Africa, Egypt, and many other countries to secure trade. South Africa became one of there closest allies. South Africa gave Kosovo the authorization to allow Kosovo's armed forces to stay there to secure trade.
