PARACHUTE REGIMENT THE PARAS The Parachute Regiment leads from the front as Britain's airborne infantry. Fielded are 1 PARA and 2 PARA. The 1st Battalion is permanently under the command of the Director Special Forces within the Special Forces Support Group, with The Paras' three other battalions serving as the Airborne Infantry complement to the British Army's rapid response formation, 16 Air Assault Brigade.
