Description
When rebellion against Britain was first imagined many turned to those cast into the western province of Connacht. Despite not being in the memory of those alive, the scourge of the conquest of Ireland in the 1650s continued to haunt many. Revenge was needed, and soon. In preparation for the rebellion, men from Connacht were quick to form their own regiment of infantry. Thousands rallied to the call of freedom and the regiments of Connacht were ready for a fight.
