𝗕𝗟𝗨𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗥𝗢𝗬𝗔𝗟𝗦 The First Dragoons and Royal Horse Guards 'Blues & Royals' was founded in 1969 following the amalgamation of the Royal Horse Guards and the First Royal Dragoons, the custom of upholding two regiments was created after the Battle of Warburg in 1760 by the Marquess of Granby, who upheld the commission of the Royal Horse Guards and the First Royal Dragoons. Within the creation of the regiment, the Blues & Royals stand guard mounted and dismounted with their navy blue tunics at Horse Guards parade. The Blues and Royals, ensure the safety of the civilian population within their regions of combative zones, distinguishing themselves from the common regiments, the regiment has deployed within regions of Northern Ireland and the Falkland Islands. Current operations are conducted within regions of Afghanistan and Iraq.
