Description
Navy’s mission is to prepare naval power in order to enable the integrated force in competition and conflict. As an island nation, the sea is Australia’s lifeblood. Australians are dependent upon it. Trade travels by sea, and thus Australia’s economy, prosperity, and way of life count on the sea. Good order at sea is vital to the Nation’s economic and environmental welfare, and to national security. Navy contributes to the Defence mission by providing safe seaworthy, airworthy and battle worthy ships, submarines, aircraft, and specialist teams to meet operational commitments. The provision of these assets contributes to maintaining sovereignty and security in Australia’s region.
