Daemon invirtió el emblema Targaryen, un dragón de tres cabezas de sable sobre fondo de gules, y nombró a su casa en honor a la espada Fuegoscuro que su padre le dio a los catorce años y que había sido el arma personal de Aegon el Conquistador, pasando a todos sus sucesores.
