Description

Republic of the Grey Wedge is a historical region in southwestern Siberia and northern Kazakhstan that was heavily populated by ethnic Ukrainians in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Between 1917 and 1921, a powerful national movement developed here, aimed at creating Ukrainian state autonomy.

Growth

2 measurements spanning 13 days, net -1. Dots are measurements; the straight line between them is drawn to join them, not to claim we know the path taken in between — snapshots are recorded only when a count changes, so gaps mean “no change observed”, never “interpolated”. The vertical axis spans 34–35 and does not start at zero.
