Description
Named after the legendary 1st Volhynian Riding Regiment from the 1830 Uprising, the 1st Ruthenian Riding Regiment consisted largely of Polish and Ukrainian riders and was Poland's answer to Russia's fearsome Cossacks. They earned a reputation during the uprising for their speed and daring on the plains of Volhynia. The regiment has never truly squared off against a Cossack force but still stand as Poland's first line of defense against Russian cavalry.
