Our nation is the "Islamic Khalifate" which is a fictional state that me and Vulnerary45 invented via text messages. In our custom history, Napoleon never won the French Campaigns in Egypt and Syria, which allowed the Ottoman Empire to keep those territories and conquer lands to the east. The Ottoman Empire though did decline, which caused them to lose their European territories and most territories outside of the Middle East. In an attempt to restore power, Mahmud II instituted a Khalifate as the government.
