1st Marine Raider Battalion, Delta Company, is one of the battalions in the Marine Raider Regiment with United States Marine Corps Force Special Operation Command or simply MARSOC. MARSOC was created on Feb 24, 2006, succeeded from Detachment One, composed by USMC 1st Force Recon. Marine Raider was founded during the Second World War as simply Marine Raider as an elite infantry unit instead of Special Operation Force until disbanded. in Jan 8, 1944. The 1st Marine Raider Battalions were created along with the Marine Special Operations Advisor Group. The majority of the combat personnel assigned to the battalion was drawn from the Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance. The battalion consists of four companies, each company consisting of 4 fourteen-man Marine Special Operations Teams (MSOT). "Spiritus Invictus"
