The Colorado Consortium of Swordmasters was founded in 1869, in the turbulent years following the American Civil War. As guns swept across the frontier, a circle of eccentric yet elite duelists—veteran officers, traveling ronin, European fencing masters, and Native American blade practitioners—sought to preserve the disappearing art of the sword. They established a secluded compound near the foothills of the Rockies, where the air was thin, the land untamed, and a warrior’s discipline could thrive. This gathering of masters formed the earliest High Assembly, who drafted a strict code of honor emphasizing discipline, mastery, and duel-based truth.
