With their powerful navy, financial support for allies on the European mainland, and active participation in the Peninsular War, Great Britain played a crucial role in bringing about Napoleon's downfall. Even as other major powers wavered in their alliances, Britain remained steadfast in their opposition to France, ultimately playing a decisive role in the final defeat of Napoleon.
