Description
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐒 𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐃 Lictors were attendants and bodyguards assigned to high-ranking Roman magistrates. Their primary role was to accompany and protect these officials, symbolizing and enforcing their authority. The institution of lictors dates back to the time of the early Roman kings. They were initially attendants of the Emperor and later became attendants for various republican magistrates.
