Description
The Grupo Especializado de Fiscalização (GEF) is IBAMA's premier tactical enforcement unit responsible for combating organized environmental crime throughout Brazil. GEF operates in remote and high-risk regions, including indigenous territories, federal conservation areas, and critical environmental protection zones. Agents conduct operations against illegal mining, illegal logging, wildlife trafficking, land invasion, and other serious environmental offenses. Personnel are highly trained and frequently work alongside federal police, military forces, aviation assets, and other specialized government agencies to execute complex enforcement missions.
