Description
The Provost Branch of the Adjutant General's Corps includes 3 distinct organisations, the Royal Military Police, the Military Provost Staff and the Military Provost Guard Service. Each organisation has its own cap badge, history, identity and specific roles and responsibilities. The Royal Military Police (RMP) are the Army's specialists in Investigations and Policing and are responsible for policing the military community. The Military Provost Staff are the Army's specialists in Custody and Detention, providing advice inspection and surety. The Military Provost Guard Service (MPGS) provides trained professional soldiers to meet Defence armed security requirements.
