Description

𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱. 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱. The Institute was an advanced technocratic scientific colony active below the ruins of Boston from the year 2110 and beyond. 33 years after the Great War, the descendants of the survivors of the Commonwealth Institute of Technology, officially formed the organization that would later become known as simply "The Institute". Their ultimate aim was to preserve their livelihood and build a future below the surface for what they considered the "pure" remnants of mankind through the power of science. By the year 2287, the Institute had developed technology that was near inconceivable to the common wastelander; ranging from long range teleportation devices, advanced laser weaponry, semi-sentient robots, and synthetic people almost indistinguishable from an actual human. These "synths" would go on to become the Institute's crowning achievement, and drew heavily on their motto, "Mankind. Redefined.".
