Polish-Lithuanian Guard Light Cavalry 𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘 The Third Regiment of Light Horse Lancers of the Imperial Guard, was raised in 1812 during Napoleon's invasion of Russia. As a gesture to gain support of the recently liberated Lithuanians, Napoleon added a unit of Lancers comprised of Lithuanians to his guard, as well as an attachement of Lithuanian Tar Tars.
