DESCRIPTION: Al-Andalus is the name given to the Mxusxxlim-ruled area of the Iberian Peninsula. However, it at it's peak it expanded far beyond the Peninsula, reaching deep into Western Europe. The Emirate's capital was the city of Cordoba, rich in both wealth and knowledge, as it is one of the principal trade nodes linking the West with the East and also one of the principal centers of thought, research and philosophy in the whole world in that period.
