KaiserΙiche Armee #16595834
Description
𝘾𝙊𝙇𝘿𝙎𝙏𝙍𝙀𝘼𝙈 𝙂𝙐𝘼𝙍𝘿𝙎 The Second or 'Coldstream' regiment was formed in the village of Coldstream, Scotland in 1650 by Colonel Monk. The origin of The Coldstream Guards lies in the English Civil War when Oliver Crom gave Colonel George Monck permission to form his own regiment as part of the New Model Army. Monck took men from the regiments of George Fen and Sir Arthur Haselrig, five companies each, and on 13 August 1650 formed Monck Regiment of Foot. After the "Grenadier Guards" or "1st Regiment" conquered the French Imperial Guard at the Battle of Waterloo the Household Division began wearing bearskin's which was the distinction of Grenadier Companies. The Coldstream Guards has distinguished themselves at several major battlefields such as the First World War, the Second World War and several others like Iraq and Afghanistan. Interested in joining?
