New Haven County District Court - The Judiciary is the third branch of Government. As per Article VI of the State Constitution, its ultimate authority rests with the Chief Justice and the Supreme Court of Mayflower. - State District Courts are the lower tiered courts who possess original jurisdiction and are lead by a Chief Judge - whose authority is a lesser equivalent to that of the Chief Justice.
