Austria, hoping to broker a favorable peace, proposed the Armistice of Pläswitz. Napoleon declined the peace terms offered and in consequence forced the 300,000 strong Austrian army into the Sixth Coalition. The Austrian Army had not forgotten their defeat in 1809 and looked to crush Napoleon once and for all.
