Description
𝟭𝟭. 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: The 11. Infantry Division saw it's first action during the 1st World War and it was made up mainly from people recruited from the Olt Region. It took part in the Transylvania Offensive in the Summer of 1916, Battle of Mărăști and eventually in 1918-1919 it took part into the offensive against the Bolshevik Forces of Bela Kun. After the end of Romanian-Hungarian War, the Division was disbanded as it didn't had any practical use during the peace times. It was reactivated somewhere around 1938, rightly after King Carol II coup to protect the country against the Bolshevik Forces that were showing signs of wanting Bessarabia Back. During World War 2, the division was sent on the Easter Front and took part to most of the important battles such as the Siege of Odessa, Don River Battle, Caucasus Skirmish and 2nd Iasi-Chisinau offensive launched by the Russians in August 1944.
