Description
This regiment was formed early September 1808, using the grenadiers, musketeers, and 3rd battalion of the von Rüchel regiment and the fusilier battalion Bergen No. 11. When Napoleon required Prussia to provide a division to support the Grand Armée in the 1812 invasion of Russia, the 1st Combined Infantry was formed using the regiment's 2nd and fusilier battalion. Because of casualties suffered in early February 1814, the fusiliers of this regiment were merged with the fusiliers of the 2te Ostpreussiches Infanterie-Regiment No. 3 to form a combined battalion suitable for field operations.
