📯 𝐑𝐞́𝐠𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐞 𝐥𝐚 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐨𝐰! 🥁 ⚔️𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐬: Active & Recruiting 📜𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲: The Company of the King's Musketeers (aka the Musketeers of the Guard), were raised in 1622 by Louis XIII when he replaced the Compagnie de Carabins's weapons with muskets, renaming it to Compagnie de Mousquetaires. This troop of light horse consisted of gentlemen and people of recognized merit, Gascons, and Béarnais with the later two being the majority. Until 1629, the troop was part of was part of the Chevau-légers de la Garde. In 1622 the Musketeers were under the command of Charles de Bérard, Marquis de Montalet. In 1634, Louis XIII took personal command of the unit. The Musketeers would be disbanded in 1646.
