Description

Once a trading post for pioneers, the settlement of Las Cruces was founded in 1849 when the colonial forces of New Iberia first surveyed the town, thus opening up the area for settlement. The town was first surveyed as the result of the Iberian acquisition of the land surrounding Las Cruces, which later became the New Mexico province. This land had been ceded to New Iberia as a result of the Treaty of Guatemala City, which ended the war between New Iberia and Comancheria. In the years leading up to 1898, millions of immigrants flocked from Europe during its time of crisis, looking to settle in a new land that would provide them with freedom and prosperity. Thousands of these immigrants chose the province of New Mexico to migrate to, with the city of Las Cruces serving as a lawless destination in which riches could be discovered and freedoms were unlimited. In the present day, the native armies of Comancheria have returned to conquer Las Cruces, marking the beginning of a new era.

Growth

Growth history is still building. We hold one measurement for this entry. A trend needs at least two, taken days apart — so this will fill in on its own rather than being estimated. We do not publish numbers we have not measured.
