📯 Sheikhdom of Kuwait EST. 24/04/21 📌 𝗦𝗬𝗡𝗢𝗣𝗦𝗜𝗦 The Sheikhdom of Kuwait was founded in the year 1752 after gaining independence from the Bani Khalid Emirate, led by Sabah I bin Jaber. The Sheikhdom would exchange hands between the Ottomans & the British until finalising a treaty with the UK in 1899 to become a protectorate. Dubbed the “Marseille of the Gulf” due to its vibrant economy, Kuwait specialised in pearl diving and was central in the trade of spices, textiles and frankincense. Moreover, Kuwaitis held a reputation for being the best sailors in the Gulf, and would produce some of the best ships in the region - capable of reaching the likes of Japan. 🌿 God, Country & the Emir 🌿
