Originally named the "Long Range Desert Group" based out of Papakura Military Camp, the Special Air Service is New Zealand premier Special Forces Unit. Commonly considered a Tier 1 Special Forces Unit, they operate out of the New Zealand Army and deploy overseas and domestically for Counter Terror Operations as well as Hostage Rescue and infiltration/Recon.
