N A T O ─────── 𝘼𝘽𝙊𝙐𝙏 The North Atlantic Treaty Organization, or NATO, is a military alliance of countries from Europe and North America. It was established in 1949, with the signing of the North Atlantic Treaty in Washington, D.C. The alliance was formed to provide collective defense against the Soviet Union and its satellite states during the Cold War.
