Description
The 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment was an elite airborne infantry unit of the United States Army, most notably serving as part of the 101st Airborne Division during WWII. Activated in 1942, the regiment was trained in parachute operations and quickly became known for its discipline and combat effectiveness. It played a significant role in almost every major conflict including and after WWII. Throughout these campaigns, the regiment demonstrated resilience under intense combat conditions, contributing to key NATO victories in Europe and the rest of the world. Today, the 2nd Battalion (this group) serves under the 82nd Airborne Division. Geronimo!
