Description

Unoffical Group for the VWRP Game, Medlarp Group. The 3rd Marine Division was a major U.S. Marine Corps force in the Vietnam War, operating under the Third Marine Amphibious Force (III MAF) in the northern provinces near the DMZ. These Marines were often deployed in brutal jungle combat zones like Khe Sanh, Con Thien, and Da Nang. Serving beside them were U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsmen, trained in field trauma and certified under the Fleet Marine Force (FMF). These Corpsmen—known as “Doc”—were vital in saving lives on the battlefield. They treated gunshot wounds, stopped bleeding, handled shock, and prepped the wounded for medevac. Though technically Navy, they wore Marine fatigues, carried weapons, and fought beside the men they cared for. III MAF coordinated large-scale combat operations and required Corpsmen to operate in aid stations, with patrol units, or even on helicopters. Their job was dangerous, but their courage earned them deep respect from Marines.
