1𝙎𝙏 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐘𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝙑𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐩𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚 | 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝙑𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 ═────────────────────────────────────────═ The 1st Battalion, New York Sharpshooters was organized on October 10, 1862 and sent to the Eastern Theater. Its soldiers were equipped with the powerful Sharps rifle .52 cal. The 1st New York Sharpshooters was attached to the 1st United States Sharpshooters during the war.
