ACTIVE FROM: April, 2025 ROLE: Infantry Specialism: Light Role Infantry The 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 are one of the most senior infantry regiments of the British Army. This regiment was formed in 1656 and ordered to protect the Exiled King, Charles II During the English Civil War. We are known for guarding Buckingham Palace in our Scarlett Red Tunics and tall black bearskin hats. But we aren’t all just about Guarding. We are an Infantry based regiment that takes tours & deployments to many countries to help and protect. Our regiment has stuck to our traditions for many centuries and to this day still carry out the same Activities and some new ones. Our band is responsible for our musical side of the Regiment, In parades, Trooping of the colour and Changing of the Guards.
