Description
In the year 1896, the Chinese Unity Party, a nationalist group within China, was gaining power and influence. Their goal was to expand Chinese territory and unify all ethnic Chinese people under one nation. They saw an opportunity in the neighboring country of Vietnam, which had been suffering from political instability and corruption for years. The Party believed that the Vietnamese were distant relatives to the Chinese, using similarity in language and culture as justification to support a Rebellion in the form of the "Vietnamese Unity Front" a rebel force made up of Vietnamese and Chinese in the Party's words "Reclaim" Vietnam. After months of fighting the flag of the Unity Front would fly high over Hanoi and the suffering Vietnamese citizens, with the Ruling dynasty gone the Party quickly consolidated its power with the new Government, made up of a Chinese minority, and the party's newly implemented system of "National Democracy".
