Formed in July of 1813, the 4. Reserve would serve in the Liberation Campaign of 1813. Outfitted in Portuguese and British equipment, this regiment would stand out among their peers. Reformed in 1815 prior to the Hundred Days Campaign, this regiment would be known as the 16. Infanterie Regiment for the remainder of the War.
