Description
I give new potato facts every week 🥔 In the 1700s, many French people were terrified of potatoes, thinking they caused leprosy. To fix this, a man named Antoine-Augustin Parmentier planted a potato field and hired armed guards to watch it during the day. He told them to look the other way at night so locals would "steal" the "valuable" crop to plant for themselves and it worked!
