Description
The world of John Wick is a fictional universe where an elite group of assassins operate under a strict code of conduct and honor. The central governing body of this underworld is known as the High Table, which enforces these rules and punishes those who break them. The High Table operates on a system of "markers," which are tokens of debt that an assassin can use to call in a favor from another member of the organization. If a marker is refused, the consequence is usually death. John Wick, the titular character, is a retired assassin who is forced back into the world of killing after a series of events leads to the death of his beloved dog, a final gift from his late wife. John's quest for vengeance puts him at odds with the High Table, and he becomes a target for assassination himself. Throughout the series, John navigates the complex and violent world of the High Table, seeking revenge and ultimately trying to find a way out of the life of an assassin.
