The Marine Infantry Inspectorate. ‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒ The Inspectorate of the Marines was a military service of the Imperial Navy. The Imperial Navy's marines served mainly to defend the imperial ports of war but, were also deployed aboard ironclads in the 19th century for lack of seaman personnel.
