Description
𝐒𝐈𝐁𝐔𝐍𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐘𝐑𝐈𝐀 These are the standard line infantry of the Illyrians. Light hoplites armed with javelins, can hold the line if necessary, but lack armour. The use skirmishing hoplite troops by Illyrian commanders of the time is well documented and was a natural fit with the overall ethos of the Kingdom's military. Armed with a traditional hoplon, linen armour and a brace of javelins, the light hoplite was the perfect compromise between mobility and protection necessary to screen an advancing force, or provide much needed relief during pitched fighting.
