𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐀𝐍 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐁𝐄 ───────────────────────────────────────────────── The Pandionis Phyle was named after Pandion I and Pandion II, the two legendary kings of Athens.. It was comprised of 11 demes. Their iconography features the image of an ancient Athenian king drinking from a rhyton. Pandion had a hero shrine on the Acropolis of Athens, where Pausanias reports seeing a statue of the legendary king (either Pandion I or Pandion II). Pandion also had another statue at the Monument of the Eponymous Heroes in the Ancient Agora. While no specific Athenian notables belonged to this tribe, the cult of Pandion was one of the most prominent in Athens not belonging to a god.
