Nizâm-ı Cedîd #179129857
Description
𝗡𝗜𝗭𝗔𝗠-𝗜 𝗖𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗗 "The New Order, forged for the renewal of the Empire." The Nizâm-ı Cedîd was the reformed standing army established during the reign of Sultan Selim III to modernize the military institutions of the Ottoman Empire. Organized along contemporary European lines while remaining firmly rooted in Ottoman traditions, its soldiers received standardized training, regular pay, modern equipment, and disciplined instruction under a centralized command. Supported by newly founded military schools and a dedicated treasury, the Nizâm-ı Cedîd represented a decisive effort to strengthen the Empire against the growing military challenges of the age. Unlike the traditional provincial levies and older military institutions, the Nizâm-ı Cedîd emphasized professional service, uniform organization, and continuous training. Its infantry, artillery, engineers, and supporting units were drilled according to modern tactics and equipped with contemporary firearms.
