Description
House Tully was one of the great houses of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, but unlike many of the great houses, the Tullys never ruled as kings, but held Riverrun for at least a thousand years as their seat of power. Descended from the First Men, the 'rivermen', otherwise known as the 'riverlanders', were the native inhabitants of Westeros long before the Andal invasion from the east. House Tully rose to prominence during Aegon's Conquest, when Lord Edmyn Tully led the lords of the Riverlands who had deserted Harren Hoare, King of the Isles and the Rivers, in support of House Targaryen. Following the burning of Harrenhal, Lord Edmyn was rewarded with dominion over the Riverlands by Aegon I Targaryen, becoming the first Lord Paramount of the Trident.
